Love is Kind

Love Is Kind

Someone once taught me that kindness meant being the door amongst the wall of thorns...
And I believe that to be true because in a world full of people, full of suspicions of one another, the only way to tear down the walls of suspicion or hostility is kindness. It is like inclusiveness. Well then, why is kindness seen as love? That's because the moment you stop being inclusive, the moment you stop involving someone in your life, wouldn't that equate to ignorance? What is the opposite of love again? Right, it isn't hatred, it's ignorance. And that's the last thing you'd want to do to anyone you care about. Also, the last I checked, it's the last thing any human being would want either.

Of course, there are systems and cycles in place for every human being. We all have our lives to live and it can't possibly revolve around socialising 24/7, but I believe it takes wisdom to grow in kindness, to enlarge our capacity to love, to offer ourselves to another and another and so forth. We might consider asking ourselves, do we really have to spend time on this over that? Do we really have to spend time with this person over the other person? It doesn't mean - while considering so in this situation - that you love the other person less if you choose one over the other, but the real question is, who do you need to be there for more? Who do you need to show your appreciation for more? Battling with these questions every day takes great patience and determination to persevere in growing to love through showing kindness.

Over the months, I felt the Lord moving me toward evangelism. Now now, this is not the usual shove-it-in-your-face kind of evangelism that many are aware of... But I felt God telling me that kindness is key to evangelism. Gaining much interest in evangelism, I felt very empowered by the Holy Spirit and started engaging in conversations and meet-ups with people, telling them of His great love and what He has done in my life that changed me, and that He could do it to those who are willing too... But I, too, began to understand a little more about the church and why this (evangelism) would not work out if only I am involved.... but, I'll save that for another post. (:
